Stress-Free Living Blog - 9/17/07

"The mind segregates people; whereas, the heart unites people."

Your mind gathers data through your five senses, which have a very specific and limited capacity. For example, your eyes can see only a limited wavelength, and your ears can hear only a limited frequency. Therefore, the data you gather is at best incomplete.

From your mind’s analytical viewpoint, everything is segregated and fragmented, which results into stress. Conversely, your heart reveals the truth and sees only that we are each an integral part of this one universe, totally connected and interdependent. When you act from your heart, you will be free from ego and agendas to become your most productive and stress-free self.

"You cannot trust others until you first become trustworthy yourself."

You typically see yourself and others through the window of your own personal experiences and understandings. For example, a fashion designer critiques the clothes people wear and a fitness coach judges people based on their physique.

Whether you realize it or not, you actually even evaluate yourself based on your background and experiences. And all of your stress originates from what you really think of yourself. Therefore, you will never be able to trust others until you first create inner harmony and become trustworthy in your own eyes.

"All of your stresses and frustrations come from living life conditionally."

We typically feel that we need a reason or condition to be happy. For example, if you get a raise or something good happens, you become happy. But happiness that is tied to conditions does not last. And worse yet, when those expected conditions are not met, you not only become unhappy, but also stressed, frustrated, and depressed.

The truth is that happiness, which comes from being grateful for all of your gifts and life itself, is internal and should be unconditional... regardless of what is happening around you.

It is this unconditional gratefulness that will give you sustainable happiness and a stress-free life.
